1 3/4 all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
1 tsp salt |
2 tsp cinnamon, divided |
1/2 tsp apple pie spice |
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, divided |
3/4 cup light brown sugar |
3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided |
1 tsp vanilla extract |
1/2 cup apple cider |
Apple Cider Donuts Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray donut pans or muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and apple pie spice.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mix together 10 tablespoons butter, brown sugar, and ¼ cup sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Mix in eggs one at a time and scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Mix in vanilla.
- Slowly mix in the flour mixture. Mix in apple cider. Place batter into a piping bag and pipe into donut pans. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
- Melt remaining butter. Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Brush butter on donut and dredge them in cinnamon sugar.
