Ingredients
Crust:
1 Oakdell cage-free egg yolk |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 tsp salt |
1 cup unsalted butter, melted |
1 tsp vanilla |
Filling:
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk |
1/2 cup unsalted butter |
1 cup light brown sugar |
1/4 cup light corn syrup |
1 tsp vanilla |
1/2 tsp salt |
Chocolate:
1/3 cup heavy cream |
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
crystalized sea salt |
Million Dollar Shortbread Directions
- 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13x9 pan with aluminum foil with extra foil hanging over the edges and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl. Then stir in melted butter, egg yolk, and vanilla. Press evenly in the bottom of prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until firm to touch. Let cool.
- 2. Prepare filling by combining ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it darkens to a golden color and reaches 225 degrees.
- 3. Pour filling over the crust and smooth. Chill until caramel sets, about 15 minutes.
- 4. Heat heavy cream in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Spread chocolate over the filling and sprinkle with sea salt. Chill and cut into bars.
