How to apply our compost: For soil enhancement just about anywhere, evenly mix one inch into three to four inches of soil, or evenly spread ½ inch on the top of an existing bed and water it in. These are three reasons why you should use nutrient dense organic compost like Oakdell Organic Compost. First, it has important nutrients to improve stubborn Utah soils, from clay to sand. Second, it helps the soil retain moisture. Third, it improves aeration to allow plant roots to obtain necessary oxygen. This is a great solution for prepping your soil for the winter months.
If you have an existing lawn, evenly spread ¼ inch over the top and water it in. Two one-cubic-foot bags should cover 100 square feet, or about a 10’ x 10’ area. We’ve spread it on our new sod and it looks great!
